Grade 1 Teacher

My name is Beverly O’Leary. I am Mi'kmaq from Natoaganeg First Nation, New Brunswick. I am excited to teach Kindergarten this year at the new Elise Fabian School. I am THRILLED to learn more about the Cree and Dene languages and teachings so my students will have a culturally enriched education through Art, Music, Play, dancing, and Land-based activities.

I come from a family of educators who believe in the importance of education and developing First Nation's curriculum. I am a loving mother, sister, aunt, and spouse. I'm a kind and loyal friend, an artist who loves to paint flowers inspired by Mother Nature’s beauty.

I am grateful for my loving family and love going on family adventures, nature walks, travelling, and art museums.

In my most recent teaching positions at Natoaganeg First Nation School and Elsie Yanik Catholic School, I developed highly effective creative lesson plans, motivational activities, and performance assessments. My teaching style demonstrates dedication to fostering a positive learning environment for all students and maximizing individual student performance. The accomplishment I'm most proud of in my teaching career is watching my students grow and gain confidence in their abilities.

It’s going to be a fun year full of learning and new adventures, and I look forward to learning all about my students, their families, traditions, culture, and languages.
